Ardesia is one of the last labels of the Zarelli winery, a IGT Planargia Rosso made from black red Sardinian grapes, evolved in new and partly new French oak barrels in order to have a fragrant and great structure wine.

Ardesia arises from the company vineyards located in the countryside of Magomadas: an area characterized by hills of calcareous origin, capable of giving wines great minerality, finesse and propensity for aging. It is a perfect terroir for the production of whites, considering the particular microclimate, characterized by hot and sunny summers, rare rains, mostly distributed between late autumn and spring, and warm winters, made even milder by the proximity of the sea: a territory, this, beaten by strong mistral winds, which avert the danger of diseases, and benefiting from excellent thermal excursions also ensured by the breezes that, filled with salts, blow from the sea to the evening. The grapes are harvested manually to perfect ripeness, in the early hours of the morning, and quickly transported to the cellar where they are subjected to destemming, and the must left in contact with the skins for vinification in red. Once fermentation is complete, Ardesia ages in new and partly new French oak barriques, in order to increase its structure, complexity and persistence.
Ardesia shines in the glass of a beautiful intense ruby red, almost blood, dark and impenetrable to light, which opposes resistance to the swirling due to the great consistency.
The nose offers sensations of red berry fruit such as marasche, wild berry jam, aromatic herbs and balsamic notes, all framed by warm and sensual shades of wood.
In the mouth Ardesia is a powerful red, structured and of great softness, animated by a vibrant minerality and freshness, and by a fine tannin. A warm and enveloping sip, of excellent persistence and finesse.
Ardesia is a red to be enjoyed on cold autumn and winter evenings, accompanying it to structured and fat cheeses such as the Formai de Mut of the Alta Val Brembana PDO or the Bitto DOP, and at the table with great fennel and stewed game dishes.
