Organic arbutus honey - S'atra Sardigna - Sardinian food

Arbutus honey is definitely the most famous and important honey in Sardinia, so special to be reflected in the writings of the ancient Romans, who conquered the island.

The arbutus honey is pleasantly bitter, and for this reason it is often incorrectly matched to other types of honey such as chestnut honey. Its scent is very special and indeed much finer and vegetable than the idea of "animal" that the chestnut honey can give to us.

The taste is always bitter and this remains persistent on the palate enriched with notes of ivy and exhausted coffee, leaving us a slightly astringent feeling.
