Organic orange honey - Terrantiga - Sardinian organic food

Features of this organic honey:

Probably citrus species were brought in Sardinia towsands years ago by the Saracens over the Asian lands: grapefruit, oranges, mandarins and clementines are now widely spread. The greatest concentration is found in the plains of Campidano, between Villacidro and San Sperate (ancient Orticedro, in fact) now for hundreds of years. The orange plant flowers in spring; its flower is very pretty and delicate and Sardinia is commonly known as "blossom", the flower of the spouses.

Appearance:
The orange honey crystallizes within 2 or 3 months after harvest, with fine crystals and compact; during this phase also the color changes from yellow gold (during the liquid phase), the ivory white (when and 'completely crystallized).

Taste and aroma:
Its aroma is very intense, the scent of orange blossoms are clearly warns. Fresh, intense and very sweet, however, may change over time, becoming more mature and fruity notes of orange marmalade. Highly sugary in flavor, with a very persistent fragrance, very sweet and delicate on the palate and a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Indicated in tea, in coffee (where it releases a very particular taste), in sebadas and the fried cakes of Italian regional tradition.
