Antico Gregori is a white wine DOC obtained from Vernaccia grapes.
The Gregori is the typical thin and sandy soil of the Valle del Tirso, an elective land for the Vernaccia vine.
The Antico Gregori is a Cuvèe of the best ancient vintages of Vernaccia, matured for long decades in caratelli of precious wood. Year after year, according to the Solera method, the original base, dating back to the beginning of the century, has been topped up with additions of the best matches of Vernaccia Contini. The very long stay in wood has given life to an extraordinary product, such as to represent the top quality-production of the Vinicola Contini company.
Wine of amber color, bright, with aromas of considerable intensity and complexity, ethereal with flavors of dried fruit, almonds and toasted hazelnuts. Dry, warm and velvety on the palate, with a very long taste-olfactory persistence. It is an important wine, a great meditation, also able to find an excellent agreement with some special dishes such as spicy or hard cheeses. Serve at 16-18 ° C in a large glass, favoring the oxidation of wine half an hour before serving.
