Organic honey of Mediterranean maquis - S'atra Sardigna - Prodotti di Sardegna

A honey from spicy, aromatic and "balsamic" components.

The honey of Mediterranean scrub is a type of poliflora honey, typical of Sardinia. It is collected in the spring and has some unique characteristics compared to other kinds of italian millefiori.

The spicy notes probably derive from the typical rock rose and thistle blooms of the more rural areas of the island.

The aromatic components are often enriched by "balsamic" notes due to the presence of Lavandula Stecca, a native species of Sardinian lavender. The asphodel, when present, gives a better vegetable and aromatic balance to a very aggressive bouquet.
