Description

Anastasìa - Cantina di Mogoro

The Anastasìa wine represents the emblem of the rebirth of a territory and of its most precious grape variety: Semidano. Produced by the historic Cantina di Mogoro, located in the heart of Alta Marmilla, this white wine embodies the desire to preserve a viticultural biodiversity that was once at risk of disappearing. The Sardegna Semidano di Mogoro DOC designation is one of the smallest and most specific on the island, limited to a handful of municipalities surrounding the village of Mogoro, where limestone and sandy soils provide ideal conditions for expressing the character of this ancestral grape variety. The name Anastasìa evokes concepts of rebirth and expressive purity, indissolubly linking the wine to the history and farming culture of central-western Sardinia.

The artisanal production follows rigorous protocols designed to enhance the grape's varietal fragrance. Manual harvesting allows the bunches to be picked at the moment of maximum aromatic freshness, preventing unwanted fermentation during transport to the winery. The winemaking process combines modern technology with respect for tradition, favouring the exclusive use of stainless steel to preserve the fruit's crispness. Low-temperature fermentation followed by ageing on fine lees gives Anastasìa an elegant structure and surprising aromatic complexity, where the minerality of the soil blends with delicate saline notes carried by the Mistral wind that constantly blows from the nearby coast.

On tasting, Anastasìa stands out for a sensory profile of remarkable finesse. Its bright, clear straw-yellow colour introduces a bouquet dominated by white flowers and chamomile, intertwined with hints of wild herbs from the Mediterranean maquis. On the palate, the opening is characterised by pronounced marine salinity, a signature feature of Mogoro wines, which perfectly balances the wine's softness. A noteworthy aspect concerns the resilience of Semidano: once a predominant grape variety across large parts of the island, it now survives with pride almost exclusively in this restricted area, making every bottle of Anastasìa an important contribution to the preservation of Sardinia's winemaking heritage.

This Sardinian white wine is wonderfully suited both to everyday meals and special occasions. It is the ideal partner for dishes based on white fish, seafood starters and shellfish, while its natural acidity also makes it perfect with fresh cheeses or preparations featuring seasonal vegetables. Its versatility also allows it to be enjoyed successfully as a refined aperitif, served strictly at the recommended temperature to enhance its saline finish. Choosing Anastasìa from Cantina di Mogoro means supporting a cooperative winery that has been safeguarding the work of small winegrowers for decades, bringing an authentic and vibrant fragment of the Marmilla land into the glass.
